Work Permits, Green Cards, and Intra Company Transfer Permits are issued at the discretion of the Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment. Permits are issued by the Irish authorities to attract high skills that are strategically crucial to the Irish economy that cannot be sourced from within the EU / EEA. There have been significant changes to the Irish work permit regime to meet these key strategic ends. All applications for permits will be made in accordance with requirements set within Irish public policy and legislation as set out within key legislative changes that came into effect from 1st February 2007.
